Xavier Booker propels No. 20 Michigan State past Oakland

Sophomore Xavier Booker scored a career-high 18 points to lift No. 20 Michigan State to a 77-58 nonconference win over Oakland on Tuesday in Detroit.Booker shot 5 of 9 from the field overall and went 3 of 5 from 3-point range while eclipsing his previous high of 12 points.Jaden Akins scored 16 points and Jaxon Kohler had 14 points and 10 rebounds to complement Booker for Michigan State (9-2), which won its fourth game in a row.The Spartans dominated the boards, holding a 51-31 rebounding advantage and grabbing 20 offensive rebounds.Michigan State shot 43.3 percent (26 of 60) from the field overall and went 6 of 17 (35.3 percent) from 3-point range.
