The Houston Texans on Wednesday ruled out running back Dameon Pierce for Thursday night’s game at the New York Jets with a groin injury.In a corresponding move, the Texans elevated running back JJ Taylor to the active roster. Dare Ogunbowale will be the primary backup to starter Joe Mixon.The Texans also ruled out pass rusher Azeez Al-Shaair (knee), safety Jimmie Ward (groin) and backup offensive lineman Jarrett Patterson (concussion) for Thursday.
