Oklahoma St., TCU aim to improve on sub-.500 Big 12 marks

Oklahoma State will look for its first Big 12 winning streak of the season when it goes up against TCU on Wednesday in Fort Worth, Texas.The Cowboys (12-11, 4-8 Big 12) beat visiting Arizona State 86-73 on Sunday behind a well-balanced scoring effort. Jamyron Keller scored 14 points to lead six Oklahoma State players in double figures.”I’d like to think we are building a little momentum as we’ve won two of our last three games,” Oklahoma State coach Steve Lutz said. “We should have an exciting game at TCU, but we learned a lot of things (Sunday) that we need to clean up.”Of the six Oklahoma State players who scored in double figures against the Sun Devils, three came off the bench, including Brandon Newman, who racked up 10 points and eight rebounds.Sixth man Marchelus Avery leads Oklahoma State in scoring at 12.3 points per game and is second in assists at 4.6 per contest.”We have eight, nine or 10 guys that can all go,” Newman said. “We did a good job of sharing the ball (Sunday). We had 16 assists on 28 made shots. When you see stuff like that in the box score at the end of the game, you’ve got to be pretty happy about it.”
